Writing is the only sub-test where a human decides your grade, and they decide it against six named criteria in a few minutes. Most candidates lose the B on Purpose and Conciseness — not on grammar. Most candidates rewrite the same letter again and again, fixing grammar that was never the problem. Every correction you get back names the criterion, shows your current band, shows the projected band, and gives you the exact line to change. A human marks it — not a model.
The single most commonly failed criterion. If the recipient cannot tell in one sentence why you wrote, nothing after it can rescue the band.
Not all of them. Selection is the skill — including everything is as costly as leaving out what matters.
