This is a real OET Reading Part C text on the 2026 difficulty, with the eight questions that belong to it. One paragraph, then its question, then the next paragraph. Two minutes per question, sixteen minutes in total, marked the moment you submit. Nothing to sign up for.
Why the clock is the whole point
Untimed practice is a mirror that flatters. You reread, you sit with a paragraph, you get there in the end, and you finish believing Part C is fine. The clock tells the truth: on exam day you get about two minutes a question, and the question is not whether you can find the answer but whether you can find it in time.

Read each paragraph, then answer its question before moving to the next. Choose the answer (A, B, C or D) which fits best according to the text. Two minutes per question. The clock starts when you press the button and does not pause.

What your score means

| 8 of 8 | Part C is not what is standing between you and a B. Check your timing on Part A. |
| 6 to 7 | Close. The marks are going to distractors that overstate the writer, not to the text itself. |
| 4 to 5 | You are reading the paragraph and then guessing the question. This is the most common pattern we see. |
| 0 to 3 | Part C is costing you the grade. It is trainable, and it is the fastest gain available to you. |
Eight questions is a sample, not a grade. It is enough to show you a pattern and not enough to predict an exam, which is what the 42 question diagnostic is for.
Why the explanations are not on this page
The score is the easy half. Knowing that you missed one is worth very little on its own. Knowing that the option you chose tempted you because it pushed a careful writer into a position they never took, is the thing that changes your next paper. Every question in the diagnostic carries that reasoning, for the right answer and for the three that tempt, and it is the reason the diagnostic exists. Putting it here would mean giving you the answer without the habit.
